Crows coming in on the wind
bringing messages about a friend
of the sadness gripping her heart
that keeps tearing her life apart

From her sisters she hides in her shell
holding herself in her own little cell
refusing to take hold of her key
to unlock the door and talk to me

I pray you come home every day
but you want to just fade away
many hours without you have gone
and time just keeps passing on

This ache in my heart keeps growing

the place where wounded spirits weep
is a place where the crows do not slee

Their wings brush my face at night
above my bed they circle in flight
