![]() Our Earth
When I see the things that are happening to our Earth Mother, it makes me sick! I feel Her pain, and anguish. I sincerely pray that you will view this video, and heed it's warning!
I long for the day when the world had four corners. When life was in balance. When people respected, listened to, and took care of their elders.......when you could go to a river or stream and drink your fill and not worry about chemicals in the water........ when the air was pure and fresh and you could take a deep breathe without worrying about poisons that have been put into the air by pollution......... when you could ride a horse all day without running into a fence.........when the things the earth provides for our existence wasn't wasted but respected.
I Sincerely pray that you will view this video and heed it's warning.
Wado!

| Consumption and the Consumer
The human beings of this planet are creating a groundwork for an incredible global disaster. The consumption boom threatens to devour the worlds reserves of oil and other sources within the lifetime of our grandchildren.
In Samuel Johnson's dictionary of the English language, consumption meant to exhaust, pillage, destroy.
Each of us uses up to 20 tons of basic raw materials annually.
We Americans throw away 7 million cars a year, 2 million plastic bottles every hour, and enough aluminum cans annually to make 6,000 DC10 airliners.
Our total yearly waste would fill a convoy of garbage trucks long enough to reach halfway to the moon.
Only a tiny portion of our waste gets recycled.
The good life has became the goods life.
We human beings, especially in this century have been producing and consuming at a rate that far exceeds the ability of the planet to either absorb our pollution or replenish the stock.
On average, Americans shop 6 hours a week compared to 40 minutes with our kids.
By 1987 America had more shopping malls than high schools.
We keep on increasing our consumption partly by saving less and working more hours.
If you look at all the countries that have the most prosperity, they are the countries that have the most stress.
We have became a society that began caring for things instead of people.
By the age of 20, the average American has seen a million commercials and the average person will spend a year of their life watching them.
Advertising helps to turn citizens into consumers, telling us that by buying their product, we will be accepted by society.
Advertising encourages us to meet our non material needs through material resources.
America spends a billion dollars a year on billboards alone, and our newspapers are 2/3rds advertisements along with 3/4ths of our mail.
Today, teenagers seek self esteem in clothing, cars, and possessions leaving them without a genuine sense of identity.
Today many people worship self indulgence and consumption.
Since 1950, Americans alone, have used more resources that the total of everyone else who has ever lived before them which has resulted in ruthlessly cutting down our forests and destroying our climatic system........all in the quest for money.
Children are the fastest growing segment of consumers into the consumers market. Advertisers are now targeting the children and saying an isolated child, one who sits in front of the TV all day, is a good thing for them because they will be watching the commercials targeted at them, leaving them with the feeling that they must have the products in the commercials.

This poem was brought to life with a hope that it could give a glimpse into the situation layed out within the words. In the technological advancement to better and faster, some things have been lost along the way, with one of them being respect. It is severely affecting the circle and it's balance. And we must plant the seeds of understanding and nurture them in hopes to make a difference somewhere along the way, Howa! Desecration! Creator told us to sing! The birds sing when they first wake up. All of the animals sing. Long Man river sings. Tall Man, the trees sing. Indians sing every chance they get.
